Two Years, and the Journey Continues

Two years ago, we created this space with a simple but deeply felt intention: to share the essence of our life as it unfolded. Not a highlight reel, not a perfected narrative. As we continue with an honest collection of moments and experiences, that shape how we see and move through the world.

Through travel, we've been reminded how vast and interconnected the world truly is. Each destination has offered more than scenery—it has gifted perspective. We've learned to listen more closely, observe more carefully, and appreciate the beauty that exists both far from home and right where we stand. Travel has taught us that discovery is as much internal as it is external.

Closer to home, our outdoor garden space has become a grounding force—a quiet counterbalance to movement and exploration. It has taught us patience, attentiveness, and reverence for process. Growth cannot be rushed, whether it's a plant reaching toward the sun or an idea finding its form. Tending to this space has mirrored the way we tend to our lives and this platform: with intention, care, and respite for the natural rhythm of things.

We are excited to continue sharing what we discover—new places, evolving spaces, and the lessons that emerge along the way. Thank you for walking alongside us, for engaging thoughtfully, and for allowing this space to grow into what it has become. The story is still unfolding—and we're grateful to share the next chapters with you. This year promises to be filled with stories of our journeys, gardens in process and lots more. Fondly, Heidi & Tim

Floral Magic this Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving arrives once again, we have been reflecting on how much beauty and creativity can grow in just a couple of years. It’s been a season filled with small joys, meaningful moments, and the kind of inspiration that comes from paying attention to the world around us.

This year, we are especially grateful for the simple traditions that make this time of year feel special—gathering around the table, bringing a touch of nature indoors, and creating little pockets of beauty to share with those we love. Here is a bit of garden magic to celebrate the holiday that we created for our table centerpiece.

Wishing you a peaceful, joyful, and gratitude-filled Thanksgiving.
May the season bring you comfort, connection, and moments of beauty.

Welcome to Heidi & Tim’s Place

Welcome to Heidi & Tim’s Place! We welcome you to be part of our passion for sharing the beautiful things that are part of our everyday life. Our paths first crossed in art school, where our connection developed into a partnership fueled by creativity, curiosity, and an appetite for exploration.

Heidi’s journey in the world of design began at art school, practicing fashion design. After her education she specialized in concept creation and development of surface textiles through the use of color and print for the apparel and lingerie industry. As a leader of a influential creative team she had the privilege of guiding projects and witnessing the magic of collaboration unfold.

Heidi has been fortunate to travel the world for inspiration celebrating her career through the allure of exploration, creativity and life’s experiences. As a design leader for more than 20 years, Heidi has honed her skills and contributed to the ever-evolving landscape of the retail fashion market while juggling her responsibilities as a wife and mother of two boys.

Heidi is passionate about photography as a means of capturing the beauty that surrounds her. Utilizing her talent and experience with color, texture and pattern, Heidi tells stories that captivate the viewer with her pictures.

Additionally, Heidi’s love for curating extends beyond her professional domain. She has a talent for transforming spaces, and finds joy in applying her design talent and experience to craft a home and garden space that truly reflect the personal style of Heidi & Tim’s Place. She takes pleasure in setting an ambiance that speaks to the occasion for entertaining family and friends in her Saratoga Springs, New York home.

Tim is educated in commercial art & design. He is also a skilled and talented illustrator. In 1993 he started an advertising and design studio that specialized in brand and identity development. The studio would later enter web design and development as the internet developed into commercial viability. As an avid reader he has a deep reservoir of information, a trait that enhances his endeavors across various domains. While working he held down the fort at home raising two boys with a wife traveling weekly for her career.

As a self proclaimed lover of food, Tim’s culinary adventures extend beyond the kitchen. He takes pride in researching and discovering the best restaurants wherever his travels take him. Cooking, for Tim is not just a passion, its an art form that he enjoys executing. He loves working with local, in-season ingredients, creating flavorful dishes and unique rubs for his family and friends.

Skiing and the outdoors is a beloved part of his life. It is not just a sport, it is a source of joy, adrenaline, and a connection to natures landscapes which he enjoys to share with others.

Additionally, at home Tim applies his design acumen to his historical abode, problem solving and executing much of the design work himself. Woodworking, particularly designing and crafting porches, cabinets and moldings that fit, or match, the home’s style is a specialty, adding a personal and functional touch to his family’s living space.
